More Than Just Pretty Faces

Updated: May 7, 2019

It is not easy to move 1,500 miles away, to try to find new clients immediately, so what you have to do is face your damn fears and put yourself out there. Practice your craft in a new way and meet some people, shove your photos in their face and show them what you've got.

While working on my photography degree, I did a little something different. I created a cook book called Soups, Stews and Bisques with my ex-boyfriend. It was fun, it was challenging, it was hard as hell and some of the recipes aren't even real (Sorry, it was about the pictures people!). I did it though and I have some work I am still proud of today. The thing is, if I didn't try it I would never know that I could take photographs of food, but hey, guess what, I can.

With those photos that were created from a fun project I have gotten to work with some amazing chefs, managers, servers and food lovers of all kinds. I created a fun little discount flyer to pass around to show those in need what kind of work we could create. It was probably one of the biggest social challenges I had given myself. Going in and selling yourself and your work is terrifying. The more it is done though the easier it gets. There will be many who neglect the offer, but even if you get just one it makes everything worth it.

So here is a little taste of some other fun things we can do together. I love food. I love photographing it. I wouldn't mind eating it either if you were offering. Lets collaborate and make some delicious art.
